
About me
Many years ago, I started out working for a plant hire company in their accounts department. Then I decided to relocate to Poole, Dorset from my home Norfolk to be with my partner.
12 years and 2 children later, I've worked in a bookkeeping practice or as a bookkeeper within an accountancy practice since I relocated in 2013. I specialise in Xero, but I have used Sage, Quickbooks, Zoho, and numerous other smaller software.
I enjoy many aspects - from the general day to day bookkeeping, to helping you understand your accounts - and better refine the process to improve the speed and to empower you to feel comfortable doing as much or little as you'd like.
I particularly enjoy sitting with someone and letting them show me how they use the system - ask questions and tell me where it's going wrong, and helping guide them to a better path.
I have experience within payroll, CIS and VAT. I have trained both staff within the practice environment and clients (even the odd accountant!) to use Xero to their maximum potential.
I have taken a set of books in a complete mess and left them in a position where year-end accounts could be drawn up with comprehensive notes, and set up processes to go forward to ensure they never end up in that situation again - with or without me helping out.
